About Heather

Heather Jopling, author/founder of Nickname Press has a degree in theatre and has lead workshops in both high school and camp programs as a theatre specialist.  With Nickname Press Heather has performed many readings and story-telling, including Pride Toronto’s Family Pride, Writing Outside the Margin’s Children’s Area, Word on the Street Toronto. She has also made several lecturing appearances at local Ontario schools reading her books and talking about the writing process.  Heather has been a guest speaker for prospective same-sex parents at The 519 Community Centre in Toronto. She has also brought her unique experience of surrogacy and modern diverse families to the CBC’s Gill Deacon Show and Rogers’ The Parenting Show.
